Science for sea buckthorn with PKA and cAMP. Basically, from what I've read on this page and on wikipedia, PKA is good, and using seabuckthorn oil balances out the cAMP and...here, in their words, a conclusion:

"Our study demonstrated that it is imbalance of the cAMP/cGMP ratio in aged process. SBFAs [sea buckthorn fatty acids] enhanced the cAMP/PKA pathway, regulated cAMP/cGMP ratio in aged rats".

In cell biology, protein kinase A refers to a family of enzymes whose activity is dependent on the level of cyclic AMP (cAMP) in the cell. PKA is also known as cAMP-dependent protein kinase EC 2.7.11.11). Protein kinase A has several functions in the cell, including regulation of glycogen, sugar, and lipid metabolism.
